Having got the season off to a flyer with a convincing success at Napton the previous week, Bourton & Frankton made it two in a row to start 2010 with a useful friendly fixture success at Bishops Tachbrook.

Batting first, the visitors recovered handsomely from losing an early wicket with James McDowell and Mark Whitehead sharing a 176 run partnership. Having reached 50 at the halfway point and doubling that score with 10 overs remaining, the duo clocked another 87 off the final 10 overs to reach 188 for 1 off the allotted overs. McDowell finishing 87 not out with Whitehead also unbeaten on 69.

In reply, Whitehead was in good mood with the ball, taking 4 for 12 off 4 overs. He was backed by Jason Newton and Steve Keen taking 2 for 11 and 2 for 6 respectively as Tachbrook were bowled out for 127; Bourton successful by 61 runs

Three wins out of three for Bourton & Frankton CC as they maintained their useful start to their season.

The visitors batted first and set a useful target for D & B to chase, with Dave Eyles (43), Jason Newton  and Mark Whitehead (both 26) the main contributors. There was three wickets apiece for Thomas Ewer, Steve Edden and two for Matt Parsons.

In reply, the hosts were undone largely thanks to a five wicket 'jug' haul from Danny McManus as Bourton closed the D & B innings down just into three figures. Scott Noble made 22, with Parsons 18 and Edden 15 late on the mainstays of their 105 all out; B & F successful by 72 runs
