Bourton's first season in the Coventry Alliance top flight ultimately ended in disapointment as they were unable to get the point required to avoid the drop.

The visitors had started the better of the two sides and as so many times this term, created some good chances early on. They again were not taken, and to mae matters worse Bourton then had a decision for a clear penalty go against them. To add further insult, the hosts then struck twice with soft goals before the break to leave Bourton with a mountain to climb in the second half.

Matters did not improve after the break for Bourton as not only could they could not find a way through the home side defence and did not look like doing so, but again had to endure some questionable officiating to add to their problems. Bourton's fate was wrapped up with two further goals from Ex-Service in the final quarter, with B & F agonisingly falling through the relegation trap door by virtue of goal difference.
